বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাল-সেকাল।

২২শে ডিসেম্বর, বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (বুটেক্স)- এর প্রতিষ্ঠা বার্ষিকী। ১৯২১ সালের এ দিনে বুটেক্স, ব্রিটিশ স্কুল অব উইভিং নামে যাত্রা শুরু করে। তারপর পূর্ব বাংলা টেক্সটাইল ইনস্টিটিউট, পূর্ব পাকিস্তান টেক্সটাইল ইনস্টিটিউট, কলেজ অব টেক্সটাইল ইন্জিনিয়ারিং এন্ড টেকনোলোজি এবং সর্বশেষ বুটেক্স বা বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় নাম ধারন করে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি স্বমহিমায় এগিয়ে চলছে। তবে এ প্রতিষ্ঠানটি পূর্ববাংলায় গড়ে উঠার ইতিহাস আরও পুরোনো।

Difference between traditional fabrics and sustainable fabrics

Sustainability has arrived in the textile industry. It is about more than the use of organic cotton and better working conditions. The consumption of water, energy and chemicals poses challenges for textile companies at every stage of the value chain. Sustainable business is characterized as an organization that has no negative impact on the environment or economy through its processes, products and manufacturing activities that meets the current demands with due concern to resource availability for future the generations by utilizing renewable resources. Jute | The “Golden Fibre” of Bangladesh -An Overview

Once, jute fibre was widely known as the "golden fibre" or cash-crop of Bangladesh because of it's quality and demand. Jute is a vegetable bast fibre next to cotton in importance. Fibres which are obtained from stem or bark of certain vegetable plants, are called bast fibres.
